Great little cinema in a convenient location within a short stroll from Notting Hill Underground Station.

This is a great cinema. Its ambiance compliments any movie and it's clean, an important quality. The Tube causes a slight, periodic distraction in the form of rumbling floors, but it's a minor annoyance. The theater itself is worthy of four stars, however, customer service needs significant improvement.
We arrived to the theater early. It was bitterly cold and we saw a show playing that we wanted to see. There was no line for tickets. We walked up, requested two tickets and paid. The woman working provided us with incorrect change, £5 short. We quickly pointed out the error but the woman insisted several times, rather rudely, that we had made the mistake. Befuddled, we walked off. After a short time we reassured ourself that we had indeed been give the wrong change and went back to see if we could remedy the situation. Again, the woman refused to give us the correct change. She insisted that we would need to wait for the manager "to come down and review the video footage," a very indefinite statement. Again, we walked away baffled at the amount of work required to remedy a simple error. Eventually, the manager verified that a mistake had been made and refunded the £5. The exchange with the staff detracted greatly from the experience, dropping the rating from four stars to two stars.

I just went here for the first time, and I enjoyed it.
The entrance is a bit cramped, with one ticket counter and a small bar with a single stool. Luckily it was quiet, it was Wednesday evening. I can’t imagine how they handle busy nights.
You can take your beer into the room. Room 1 is a grand old place, decorated and lit in dark red, and in need of some maintenance.
The seats are staggered and rise up towards the back, so you’re likely to have a good unblocked view. If you like, you can sit in the balcony for no extra charge. I’m 6 foot tall and found the leg space to be generous.
The audio and projection were good. The commercials and trailers lasted for ever. I asked before we went in and I was told it would be 20 minutes, it was 30. That’s just a waste of time.
At 7 GBP the price is good. The main reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that there is no good space to lounge in if you are early, and 30 minutes of commercials and trailers is too long. Overall I had a good evening, and I’ll probably go again!

I went to the Coronet for the first time last night. Organised chaos greeted me with a bunfight to buy tickets or collect pre-paid ones. Despite going to the pre-paid sign I was told to join the main (very long) queue. Both performances had sold out but there were only two small signs up to indicate this. Had they been larger it would have saved people queuing needlessly.
I have never been in such a noisy cinema. There was a cacophony of noise before it started coming from the audience who didn’t seem to be capable of speaking at a normal, quiet level. The yakking and noise of popcorn eating was driving me nuts, then the film started. I have normal hearing and can only describe it as deafening!
Its a shame as its a great little cinema, not ridiculously priced and nice bar/snacks.

Is the perfect little hideaway in Notting Hill Gate. Its a very cosy little cinema in the heart of London. Until only a few years ago, it was one of the few cinemas in London that still allowed smoking during the showing of a film. Luckily that has changed, and now no smoking is a allowed.
The cinema itself is a fairly small cinema that not everybody is very familiar with. The seats in the cinema are comfortable but there is a distinct lack of legroom.
When it comes to the cost of going there, it is worth the money. Both the tickets and any snacks or drinks that you may want, you can buy for very reasonable prices, especially when compared to cinemas such as Odeon.
The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because the lack of legroom makes it slightly uncomfortable for longer films.
